Number of learners at further education, work-based learning and community learning providers in Wales

Post-16 Education and Training

Source: Lifelong Learning Wales Record (LLWR)
Contact:Post16Ed.Stats@wales.gsi.gov.uk

This dataset gives a detailed breakdown of post-16 learners (excluding those enrolled at higher education institutions and school sixth forms) attending institutions in Wales. The data can be broken down by the region of domicile of each learner, the provider at which they are based, the mode of study (full-time, part-time or work-based learning), and information relating to their age, gender, learning difficulty and/or disability status, and ethnicity.

Learners enrolled at multiple providers are counted once at each provider to ensure that all provision is represented. This introduces an element of double-counting in overarching totals for providers that differ in methodology to the totals used in other statistical publications, as well as the Lifelong Learning Wales Record datasets found on StatsWales.

To avoid potential disclosure of individuals, figures are rounded to the nearest 5, and whilst true zeros are displayed, any values of 1, 2, 3 or 4 are suppressed using a '*' symbol.

To avoid the presence of many suppressed figures, it is thus advisable to limit the number of dimensions viewed at any time in this table, by viewing only the total for those dimensions which are not of interest.

These data are classed as National Statistics.
